Balkan countries

Visited vernissage of 'Balkanology', an exhibition at Schweizerisches Architekturmuseum in Basel.

I only knew Balkan for conflicts over years, such as W.W.1, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo. Now I work for projects in Slovenia and our project is introduced in this exhibition, so I've come to more interested in the social conditions of those countries. Last couple of years I often hear those countries are developing fast and the cities have urban developments all over the places, and not only foreign architects join from urban to architectural projects but young domestic architects are rising. Analysis for coming dense urbanization is ambitious, but what caught my eyes most are various styles of architecture which seem parallel to those of western europe. Personally I feel like experiencing the space of Jože Plečnik whose originality seems beyond the context of those area.
